There does need to be rules and regulations with permits needed, that I agree with but hurting the responsible reptile keepers is b.s. If you are going to ban keeping snakes as pets you better ban keeping dogs as well. Hell, ban everything. It is through proper ownership and education that injury prevention can happen. Not that I am convinced the snake was even the guilty party in this case. The sad thing is that the damage has already been done to this animals reputation no matter what the outcome is.
