Plus, we got a 4 star hotel for 7 nights for $169/night on Hotwire which I thought was pretty awesome, considering that particular hotel is going for $236/night on hotels.com.

Suggestions for getting to Manhattan from Newark airport at 5PM on a Tuesday? It looks like the train/transfers, etc. are going to take an hour or so and cost us around $15 each ($30 total), whereas I could take a Town Car for a flat $60. Is it going to take forever driving into Manhattan during rush hour?
We took a cab from Midtown to the Newark airport in rush hour (only took the cab instead of train because my Wife had an allergic reaction and wasn't feeling well) and it took around an hour. I'd take the train from my perspective but we always use transit when available.
