Consider volunteering for something.
With the municipal elections coming up you can find a candidate that you support and volunteer to help with the campaign. I am helping with campaign in Grande Prairie and the time commitment is really whatever you want but we usually meet at a pub to discuss the campaign. Campaigns can use any and every skill as well so there is definitely something for you to offer.
