Some small etiquette tips to make your transition easier:

1) Do not push your way into lines or on to transit vehicles. While this may be the norm elsewhere it is seen as rude in North America.
2) Be aware of where you are walking. For instance, if you are in a busy shopping area look around to see your surroundings and avoid walking into the path of someone moving along.
3) Say please and thank you when dealing with others. A bit of politeness goes a long way.
