Thought I'd bump this thread.

Friend had a break in recently in NW. He had no alarm system; his wife had asked him to get one months before (uh-oh!).

Anyway, curious about current recommendations and experiences:
- company
- system
- alternatives
- etc.

We went with whatever company previous owner had (name alludes me right now, but maybe begins with a "V" ?). I think my buddy is leaning towards United (not sure why).
