I just don't get it, what kind of pilot doesn't want to fly his/her plane? Yes the automation makes things much easier, but doesn't that same automation make it much easier to grab the yoke/stick and fly the thing yourself too?

You just spent 10+ hours crossing the Pacific with the autopilot on, I'd be itching to fly the plane that last little bit on a clear blue sky day.

Are we still "love of flight" pilots in North America and Europe, and for some of the Asian carriers the pilots are just doing it as a job (definitely not all)?
I know a guy who works for Korean Air Cargo in Vienna. He doesn't have a lot of nice things to say about the pilots.
