Yep...likely a failed high limit....infrequent filter changes and overheating furnaces as a result can melt a furnace high limit causing major issues between the control board and the limit.
Its exactly like Kipper carrying this team on his back for too many years and he finally says....NOPE ...cannot do this crazy crap any more...I'm done ...see ya.
The Fan does and will stay on for over extended periods of time and nothing is really wrong with that...the part will eventually need changing and or is really dirty and a proper cleaning can change that issue.
Over due filtration changes/ duct cleaning leads to this problem every-time.
