How much water did you spill on it? If your worried about your data I agree with Rathji and take the drive out. Goto ifixit.com for a teardown and see if your comfortable with that. Rice isn't the best solution it can make it worse, your best bet is to bring it to a technician and have them take it apart and clean it as best as possible. The longer you wait the less chance of having success as the liquid creates a chemical reaction on the circuit board. I work as a computer tech and I've seen it all and sometimes the unit will end up being fine while other times it works for days/weeks/months.
