I found him like many FAN employees to be a homer for the most part but the last year or two he did start to call things like they were and actually not just try and paint a rosy picture with all the loses.
He was good at what he did and will be interesting to see who replaces him. In some way with him already being there Rhett makes some sense but I don't think he would be a great fit at that job.

I expect and want the local broadcast to be homers, within reason. We're fans of our team and its ok to get excited and optimistic even if somewhat unreasonable. I dont want to listen to a broadcast that consantly criticizes the team, even if they are bad. As I often tell my wife, just because you're right it doesnt mean I want to hear it. Rogers struck a very good balance IMHO
