But your point is kind of my point. Subban is better than Brodie is now, and has more experience. And when Subban tried to hold out, he lost out and got a contract which was significantly less than he deserved.

Brodie would lose too if he tried to hold out, except even more so.

I would be ok with that. Kid still gets paid unreasonable amounts of money to play hockey, and the Flames would have more money (not just cap space but actual real-world dollars) to work with.
Subban and O'reilly could only holdout last year because of the signing deadline anyway. Is the deadline back this year where he'd have to sign by dec 1 or miss the entire nhl season. Haven't seem too many holdouts since they've implemented that rule. I apologize if that's been covered in the thread.
