I still don't really see Byron as a regular in the NHL. However, if he manages to keep developing, he may prove me wrong. He is fast enough and has a very good work-ethic, so regardless of his NHL upside, he is a very good presence to have down on the Heat.

Bouma was highly regarded by his team mates on the Giants. Good leadership ability. Decent 2-way play with some grit. I still unsure what he really brings on the Flames, but hopefully this season he will get a chance to show management why he belongs on the big club.

Interesting that Bancks has seemingly rejected his qualifying offer. Perhaps they have agreed to it in principle, and are just waiting to sign it? I definitely want him signed and back on the Heat, and maybe given the 'C'. I can't think of another Heat player that is as much of a 'heart and soul' guy. I can't see him turning down the QO, but I guess we will know soon enough.
