I'm guessing that like most MMOs, it will take you hours and hours (or even days or weeks of work) to be able to work up enough credits to afford one of the larger ships.
You have to ask yourself, do I want to have the game as a second job or should I rather work a real job for a couple of hours to pay real money for a ship. For me, my time is more valuable than money so I don't mind spending a few real dollars to accelerate my progress in the game if that means less grind and provides a game where I can play more at my leisure.

Haha this is the part that could annoy me about this game (warcraft style farming). Such a market driven thing.. I can see third world countries working real hard at this game lol.
Still, I think I'll sign up as it looks like a lot of fun
