I'm hardly one to speak for the majority, but I would suspect that no one will lose much sleep at all if they are rated very low on your scale. In fact, it might be construed as a weird form of high praise.
Butler is not a top pairing defenseman by any stretch, but he is certainly better than 6/7; especially on this Flames team.
