How do you figure the 2012 first round looks very weak? That first round probably has more first round draftees seeing NHL action the year they are drafted than in most drafts. And Feaster was willing to give up a first this year for ROR so he is willing to trade a 1st in a year with a strong crop.

I'm not saying Feaster will move a first round pick for a old rental, but he is very willing to move the first round pick for immediate help.

Fair enough on the Boston trade front, but I don't think Feaster sees the ROR signing as a last ditch effort at all. Neither was his rumored attempt to acquire Turris. For better or worse, Feaster likely saw Turris and certainly ROR as franchise players and was willing to move a first round pick for them. The problem/issue is whether it was a Kessel like situation where it's more about the timing of the acquisition rather than the value received from the trade.
