A few thoughts from the scrimmage today, it was hard to follow the action while checking the roster sheet for numbers so I tried to focus on certain players for a shift. I will try and add some players that haven't been talked about as much.

Monohan & Gaudreau-Its all been said before these two were creative and all business.

Granlund-his shot has a pro release and was very impressive today

Jorris- This guy had me checking my roster to see who #86 was. A very creative playmaking centre who had a great game in all zones. Great to see a try out player take advantage of his opportunity.

Padakin-I thought this Hitmen invitee played a strong 2 way game by blocking some shots from the point. I would have liked to see a bit more offence from him.

Ferland-Ive read positive reviews posted but I honestly cant see why. I thought he was invisible, for a guy with his size and experience he should have been a force in the game but didn't deliver.

Hanowski-He looked a step behind to me the whole game and not up to the skill of the other players. I hope he can improve but does not look close to NHL caliber.

Penner-Nice shot but had trouble keeping up to the pace of the game.

Elson-This player really impressed me, he was all over the ice winning puck battles and being creative with the puck. I will be interested to see what kind of season he has in the AHL

Agostino-i was excited to see him play from the reviews of the first game but I only saw flashes although he does seem to be very skilled

Jankowski-Ive been trying to figure what I think of Mark. The third period was his best but he seemed to get beat on a lot of puck battles thru the game. A lot has said he finds open ice to wait for the pass but like Iggy he seems to be at his best when he is involved in the play rather than waiting for the puck to come to him. He needs to find consistent intensity in his game to be the force we all hope he becomes.

Im very excited about the Flames D prospects Wotherspoon, Ramage, Sieloff and Kanzig who all looked really solid.

These are a few of my thoughts from the scrimmage today and thanks to everyone who posted updates from the other days of camp.
