Understandable that we're all starved for prospect success and want so badly for the Flames draft picks to pan out but to pile on someones scouting abilities because Kanzig apparently had a few good shifts in an intra-squad game in July is a bit extreme.
He has been a bad WHL defenseman the past two seasons...he may very well develop yet (and hopefully does) but he has a long way to go still.

Actually, I believed your initial write-up about Kanzig and how he sucks. Then someone else (forgotten who now) wrote a differing opinion based on his views. With the Flames drafting Kanzig that high - something smelt fishy.
Kanzig was indeed ranked solidly in the 3rd round by many scouting establishments. Word from Button was that he had a rough first year, but his second year he became a rock for the team - a leader, their #1 shut-down defencemen, etc.
As for the stats you just posted about him - kind of irrelevant, no? After all, he is a shut-down defender on a horrible team.
Regardless of how he was as a prospect when you saw him 'x' number of times, he seems to be a pretty damn nice pickup so far this camp, and seems to have massive upside. Why you are still trying to push his value down is perplexing - we all see he is pretty good, and he was indeed ranked by many in the third round. What is your agenda?
