Group B Day 2
94 - Agostino, Kenny - LW some solid goals and shots during the first shooting drills. Nice breakaway goal, twice.
92 - Arnold, Bill - C some very solid goals from him. Won his groups second race.
47 - Baertschi, Sven - LW - impeccable edge control. He made half the sheet of ice hopping on one foot. The pulling puck side to side drill was like watching him dance. Two nice goals in a row. Turned Arnold inside out on the 2 on 2
1 - Brossoit, Laurent - G faced the d from the point shots at the far end again. Finally in front. Made four saves on a play before the puck finally ended in the net. Didn't make quite as many saves as Ortio on the 2 on 0's. Ortio was beyond excellent though, gave up only 2 or 3 on like 25
45 - Eddy, David - RW nice goal on ortio
65 - Elson, Turner - LW never gies up on the puck. Beauty snipe. He's picking up some great goals. One of the only guys getting goals consistently on Ortio. Won his group race 1st round.
62 - Gordon, Coda - RW - nice pick shot
60 - Granlund, Markus - Beauty corner pick from the side of the blue paint. Left side, top right corner. I'm a tad worried how little I notice him.
77 - Jankowski, Mark - C - very nice pivots. Very nice snipe goal on Ortio. Combined with Poirier for a very nice goal. Continued his great play. A lot faster today IMO.
86 - Jooris, Josh - C - smooth skater. Didn't notice as much yesterday. Almost always jumps the gun on the skating drills and has to turn around. Did it yesterday too lol. Won his groups second race.
73 - Kanzig, Keegan - LD haha his hop skip skate jump is half the length of the pylons distance. Actually has great side to side skating was great. Brake pivot too. Man does he have a shot when he uses it. Tank defensively 5 on 5.
61 - Kulak, Brett - LD - had a nice skate to stick correction when he bobbled the puck with speed. Had a rough 2 on 1 and followed it up with a much better one. Did a great job stopping up Djanko. 5 on 5 is where he had his best hockey of the day did well on the races.
63 - MacKenzie, Drew - RD didn't stand out.
96 - O'Donoghue, Dan - C didn't stand out
37 - Ortio, Joni - G got the forwards cutting across the crease and then screened shots. Did an excellent job. Did great on the breakaways too. It's going to be very interesting to see who wins the job at the AHL level. I'm under the assumption we run with three at the NHl level for a bit
93 - Penner, Linden - RW only squeaker goal I've seen on Ortio so far.
57 - Poirier, Emile - RW saw a glimpse of his speed during the side to side drills. Also did well during puck side to side. Picked up a rebound and immediately made a great pass. Looked a little more comfortable on the breakaway drills. 5 on 5 I was finally impressed.
49 - Ramage, John - RD did really well 2 on 1's. won his groups race first round.
59 - Reinhart, Max - C I see him standing off to the side, not dressed. He must be hurt.
50 - Sieloff, Patrick - LD first out again 15 minutes early, fair few followed minutes after. Looked a little more comfy during the skating drill but still not as smooth as say Wotherspoon. Nice d on the 2 on 1's. wow. Ridiculously good. Bart managed to beat him and Ortio once, but it was far more a testament to Bartschi than a knock on Sieloff. He's manhandling guys out there. Skates backwards very well. Took a high stick from Penner, and nearly got in a fight over it. Few slashes, pushes. Surprisingly took the race at the end by a mile and Poirier and Djanko were in there. Forwards are dead tired. First race that is. And second too. Good man.
56 - Wotherspoon, Tyler - LD making more of an effort to keep an eye on hi, today. I like his size and bulk compared to some of the others. Skating is better than I recall from WJC. Very smooth during the skating drills
