I like the hint of the Bouwmeester transaction lineage and its current state in comparison to the Iginla one. I think there is a strong possibility that we see as many positives (or more!) from that trade as we do from the Iginla one.

It suddenly makes me want to go backward and track the Bouwmeester lineage thread to its origin.

Each line comes from the line below it:
- Reto Berra, Mark Cundari and Emile Poirier was acquired in the trade that sent Bouwmeester to STL.
- Bouwmeester was acquired by the trade that sent Jordan Leopold and a third round pick to FLA
- Leopold was (re)acquired in the trade that sent Lawrence Nycholat (waivers), prospect Ryan Wilson (undrafted UFA) and Montreal's 2009 second-round pick to the Avs.
- Montreal's 2009 second-round pick was acquired in the trade that sent Tanguay to Montreal (we also acquired the pick that resulted in Nemisz in this trade).
- Tanguay was acquired in a trade that sent Leopold and 2 seconds to the Avs.
- Leopold was acquired from the Ducks for Andrei Nazarov
- Nazarov was acquired in a trade that sent Michael Nylander to the Lightning.
- Nylander was acquired from the Hartford Whalers along with James Patrick and Zarley Zalapski in exchange for Gary Suter, Paul Ranheim and Ted Drury
- Gary Suter, Paul Ranheim and Ted Drury were all drafted by the Calgary Flames.
