Right now they are below average in goaltending, and probably have a bottom 10 defensive core in the league. They remind me a lot of the Flyers from last year actually; great top six, but lacking pretty much in every department.
They still won't finish ahead of LA, or probably San Jose and Anaheim. Which means they'll be competing against Vancouver and teams from the other division for the last couple playoff spots.

Yandle would allow the Oilers to put out the smallest skilled PP in the league with nobody over 190 pounds...
If you look at the Oiler roster they must be saving by ordering in small Jerseys...Very rare that an Oiler is over 200 pounds.
They have a roster that is sized to the era where Beliveau was THE freakishly big centre a 6-3 205 and Ferguson was the toughest guy in the league at 6-0 180.
