I'm sorry, but I would not sign Grabovski at this stage. I was on board with going after Lecavalier - but not Grabovski.
Feaster has acquired players this summer that will help build the foundation for a team identity that we have longed for. Yes, we won't be very good - but while building this foundation for a team identity, he is also acquiring and drafting players that will be brought up in that mold and will help us compete going forward.
He's building a team, and he's being patient. No shortcuts, no bull!@#$. I'm happy about it.

While i agree that we should not sign Grabovski this year, make no mistake the flames will overpay for a center next year. The flames are not going to throw Monahan, Reinhart, Knight and Jankowksi ( when he is ready) out to the wolves. They are going to want a veteran center to show them the ropes. I don't think Feaster see's Stajan in that role and i think the odds of him being re-signed are slim. I guess there is Backlund, but he would have to take a huge step forward this year for the flames to believe he could be the veteran center leader. Quite honestly, if 2 out of the 4 young centers listed above progress the way the flames think they should, i doubt we will see Backlund on this team in 2-3 years.
