I'm hoping management has some clue to whether or not he wants to sign here. I really hope he does.

They have talked to him. It has been reported that Feaster already tried to get him signed this off season. Probably a little harder to get a good read on him right now because more than likely he and his dad are saying all the right things knowing that he is staying in school, with little reason to "stir the pot" at this stage.
Johnny Hockey could be 2 years away and a lot can change in that time. All it takes is for him to fall in love and have that girl whisper in his ear " wouldn't it be great if we could just stay in Boston?". Johnny is not naive, and he knows that almost every NHL team would want him if he was available for free after NCAA. Considering most of CP knows that Boston has a slight hardon for him, not hard to imagine that Johnny knows it as well.
This is not to do with your post, but another post said they would feel better if he attended development camp this year. Not sure why that would make a difference? If he attends development camp its probably to see where he stacks up against others around his age and shows not only Calgary that he is serious about the NHL, but all clubs. If he wants to attend a development camp, this is the only one he can attend.
