The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed defenceman Chris Butler to a one year contract and Chad Billins to a one year, two-way entry level deal.
Butler played 44 games with the Flames this season netting one goal and seven assists for eight points along with 19 penalty minutes in his second season in Calgary.
Billins, a native of Marysville, Michigan, is coming off a Calder Cup championship as a member of the Grand Rapids Griffins. In 76 games this season, the defenceman netted 10 goals and 27 assists for 37 points along with 40 penalty minutes.
