60 cents on the dollar kind of "raked it in" where kids in Winnipeg had to throw their piggy bank change to try and buy the team because the existing owner couldn't afford it and no one wanted to buy it because it was a money pit.
Quebec moved to Colorado "raked it in."
Calgary and Edmonton barely scraping by "raked it in."
Sure, there were some greatly profitable organizations, but in the same breath there are plenty of broke owners before the NHLPA got organized.
