They'd just about have to put them directly under the arena itself. That would add a lot to the cost — especially with the high water table in the area.
Someone here posted a mockup of a football stadium and hockey arena fitted into the GSL/Greyhound site. The buildings alone took up nearly all the space between the two branches of Bow Trail. Not much room left for parking.
