Puck Daddy's blog has it's winners and losers of the draft, of course the Flames are "losers" for passing on Shinkaruk and drafting Poirier.
While immediately after it praises Columbus and Kekalainen for passing on Shinkaruk.

Columbus Blue Jackets: Winners. Jarmo Kekalainen is widely considered one of the best drafting executives in the league so even if you have qualms about his passing on Shinkaruk at No. 19, you have to give him the benefit of the doubt running his own ship for the first time.
