Maybe LA could use another scorer, but would Darryl really want to commit to someone who is no longer reliable defensively? Basically Iginla has become a player pretty much that is only effective on the power play.

He's decent 5 on 5, but can't be used on the penalty kill, nor can he be played late in games when your team is up one or two goals.

Which is why I can't see him re-signing in Pittburgh. LA might be a possibility, but I'd imagine that decision rests in Sutter's hands. Who else would know what exactly Iginla is capable of doing these days?

The Rangers make sense though, as I think they could use them. They're not really the youngest team in the league, but I believe he'd play in the top six there. Vancouver of course works too, just a matter if he wants to play in Vancouver, and "stab" all us Flames fans in the heart.

Although I don't really have an issue with Iginla signing like Vancouver like others do. Hockey is a business first, and if Vancouver offers the best contract I would expect him to take it (I probably would as well). I won't hold it against him, just like I didn't feel really any loyalty towards him when he was in the playoffs. There really isn't any loyalty in sports these days anyway, so it would come as no surprise to me if Iginla does go and play with Calgary's rival.
In fairness though, if anyone can get iginla back to how he once was it is in fact, Darryl Sutter.
