I think that with Sochi coming up Luongo may have more incentive to play for the Canucks. If this would have been the year adter the Olympics I could see Luongo retiring. Take a year off. Spite the Canucks who spurned you then un-retire.

I can see this debacle resulting in more changes to the next CBA. More upfront guaranteed money but options for the team to cut or buyout players at a lesser cost. As much as I love the impact the Luongo mess is having on the Canucks, it doesnt help the game overall. Id rather see 7uongo playing elsewhere and th Canucks paying a finanial price.
