Meh... biggest downside in grabbing him was Feaster not trading down. Doesn't seem like this guy would have been targeted quickly after his pick.
This is where the Flames' development program goes to work. Wouldn't expect to see him in the NHL until at least 3 years if everything goes very well. I think the Flames pick him up and incubate him for the next couple of years in junior, and then for a few more on the Heat.
Sounds like he developed a lot from one year to the next, and sounds like he needs loads more development. I really think this is the type of pick you make trying to bat one out of the stadium. Should have traded down, however, but I don't hate it too much. Hopefully Flames development makes something out of him.
Btw - 241 lbs already. Is he in poor condition, or is he fairly developed? Yes, he is big - but he is still heavy for his age. Anyone know?
