Elite hockey sense (which apparently Monahan possesses in great amounts): specifically the ability to read the play and put yourself in the right place at the right time to be impactful, and set up plays that culminate in goals or the prevention of goals against, is something that can't be taught, and can make up for a lot of other deficiencies. It also keep players producing until late in their careers, (prime example: Tanguay-strictly speaking hockey sense, not a comparison). That combined with a strong two-way game and 6'2 frame... plus strong leadership attributes and experience captaining a team... Canadian... idolizes, as has been compared to... Jonathan Toews...
I'm sorry, but despite these little "media personality" kerfuffles, no amount of it can deter me from wanting this guy to put on the Flames jersey tomorrow one BIT!
