Let's face it, for the vast majority, their highest value was on draft day prior to the pick. If Feaster could parlay the potential people see in the #6 pick to a known young centre, he'd be a fool not to consider it.

This draft is rather deep though, so it is more probable that the guy at 6 will be better than some of the others on the list. If we got a Scott Hartnell, Mikko Koivu, Milan Michalek, Sam Gagner, OEL, Brett Connolly or Mika Zibanejad with our #6 pick, that would be good. Each of those players is either a 1st or 2nd liner. Not a star star player among them, but a lot of very good quality players. That's the type of guy we could use now, and with future picks we could get more star calibre players.
Good supporting cast guys are important too.
