The bid/ask spread on hockey trades is huge - it all comes down to which team has to trade (or desires the trade), and they are going to be the one over-paying usually.
When playing GM-poker, I think you need to play it tight - certainly tighter than I'll-play-every-hand Feaster currently seems to be.

Don't really understand the criticism of Feaster's comments. Obviously we're "open for business", and saying that does nothing negative or positive for us. Freaking out over that is silly to the max.
Feaster is talking to all the GM's. He's probably said far more candid things to them about what we need, what we would part with, etc. I can't imagine how some of the freak out artists on this board would go ballistic if they actually heard some real conversations.
I don't at all understand how some of you view GM's and the need to stay silent and how that would affect bargaining positions. None of us here has the GM experience to say really. But from where I sit the idea that Feaster saying some of the things he's said has negatively affected his bargaining position is pure silliness.
As fans we have limited information to work with. This means people start reading more into any quote from Feaster. Taking to its max you get this thread and people freaking out over nothing.
