I get that the Flames are not the most skilled team and Tanguay was a skilled player, but the lack of size and toughness is a more pressing need and opens up a spot for Baertschi to play in the top 6.
Not a great trade, but not a bad one. It makes sense and will hopefully make the team tougher to play against.
I do have some concern about O'Brien's attitude. Hopefully the rumours are mistaken, since he is only a decent addition if he has a great attitude.

Absolute BS. The Flames are one of the most skilled lineups in the league by far. They only finished 13 points out a play off spot and were 2 inches shorter and 20-30 pounds lighter than most teams they played.
If they banned hitting the 2012-13 Flames are easily a playoff team.
