Wowzers, 30 million is steep even if the Leafs then got the chance to draft Drouin with the third overall pick. A guess that's just a drop in the bucket for the Leafs, but still a lot to pay.
Good on the NHL for not allowing it to go through. It makes complete sense to allow half of it to happen, but the player being bought out should not be allowed to sign with his former team for at least one year like that other thread is saying.
