I don't think "deserved" is the right word, but I do think the word "consequences" is fair to use. We've had two "100-year" floods in less than a decade...chances are there's a reason for that. How much of that is climate change related, I don't know, but I do think it's at least partially responsible. It's not just Alberta-related either of course...increased extreme weather activity seems to be happening everywhere around the world.
2005 was NOT a 100 year flood.

The best way for Canada to help Calgary recover is to let us build Northern Gateway, Keystone XL, and a line east to Montreal. $5 billion is nothing compared to the wealth that oil has generated for us.
