I think if you did this or what SCH suggsted, having a stripped down version of things to get the season underway, you just wind up delaying and making the actual fix much longer. So instead of having no Flames at the Dome until January, but back to 100% you could wind up having a pretty crappy experience at the Dome for either players or fans all season long. I think it's a better idea to just rip the bandaid off and get it all done and out of the way.
I'm not a season ticket holder tho so it won't really be up to me; it will be up to them (in some capacity... tolerance for a lowered game day experience vs Flames being in a diff city for a while, etc).
