Bouw to St. Louis was a beak even deal at best. #4 was having his best year as a Flame.
Feaster just has an "easy mark" vibe IMO, but that's what happens when you have a lawyer gauging hockey talent.

When you offer a player on the trade market, you get multiple offers and you take the best one. There's no jedi mind tricks played in negotiations. The only reason we sometimes see lopsided trades is when there is a very limited number of partners (see Phaneuf deal), or when the GMs fail to assess the value of a return. Every GM in the league knows exactly what Bouwmeester brings. Every GM had the opportunity to make a bid. Unless you think Feaster and Weisbrod vastly overvalued Cundari and Berra, the St. Louis deal was the best deal on the table. But really, it was about that 1st rounder, and nobody else offered a higher first. It's that simple.
If there was any overvaluation going on, it was the with Flames fans who have comical delusions about what Flames players are worth in trades.
