Read my post again, I said he should go out and make himself more marketable beofre saying he wants to play for a winner.
If you are a contending team, do you pay the guy we saw last year $6 million? Do you trade anything at all of value?
He goes out, tears it up, and the team is out of it, then sure, ask to be traded. It makes him more desireable, allows teams to see that he still has it, also allows him to see who is a contender. In this league, teams can go from top of the heap to non contender quickly. See Vancouver, or Carolina or Tampa.
