I think this is a great move by the avs. Everyone was talking how they were going to take Jones, that handcuffed them because of the talented forwards ie MacKinnon that are sitting there. The Avs know exactly what they're doing. The trade market just opened up huge for them. I guarantee Fla is sweating a little because before this announcement they thought MacKinnon would be there and Tampa was thinking Drouin would surely be there and now its no guarantee at all. They may have to move up and the Avs are sitting there thinking, we could drop all the way to fourth and still get one of those three forwards or Jones. They are sitting pretty now, love the announcement by them. Hate it as a Flames fan because the price that everyone is going to offer probably just went up since there are no guarantees unless you're sitting in that one hole.
