Knight could turn into a Bolland-type guy as a 2nd/3rd line center who plays all situations and is absolutely needed to be a successful team in this league. Not many good teams have not had that all-situations shut down center who can contribute on the offense. This guy has that upside. Outstanding pickup.

Not to diminish this signing, or even the value Feaster was able to obtain out of Sather, but today's deal with Florida had Florida with nearly zero leverage except that another team would perhaps swoop in and change Knight's mind.
In the Erixon deal, had Sather not traded for him, Erixon would have been returned to the draft. I don't think it was likely that Erixon would have fallen to the Rangers, and if he had, the Rangers would have ended up having to spend a 1st on him anyways. There wasn't much leverage by Feaster, but much more than Florida had.
