Oh, I'm not trying to overblow it. I just found it kinda funny.
But then again, if you put yourself in his shoes, Calgary is the best opportunity that he has, because we're so thin at center, and lacking good prospects. The Oilers and Canucks don't have room for him.
If you're a young kid trying to make the NHL, you'll go to whichever team will take you, regardless of your childhood allegiance. And if you're lucky enough to have the choice as a free agent at a young age, you're going to pick the team that gives you the best chance to launch your career.
