I look at Petr Straka who was a 2nd round pick for CLB in 2010 and wasn't offered a contract. Then Philly scoops him up as a ufa. He lit up the Q this past season and we could use scoring on the RW. Don't see the harm in using a late round pick to gamble on one of these kids, as they are probably just as likely to turn out as someone we pick in the 7th round.
Goalies take so long to develop that I could see someone snapping up Gibson as high as the 3rd or 4th round. Snag a goalie who is 2 years further along in his development? Makes sense to me.

I wouldn't label him as a bust either, and I think it's more likely that they didn't see a point wasting a contract on a G when they have so many young, elite goalies in their system.
