Los Angeles Kings: Christopher Gibson (2nd round, 49th overall)
- Talented Finnish goalie, once a much-lauded prospect. Victim of LA's excessive elite depth in goal? Looked good when I saw him at the WJC in Calgary.
Phoenix Coyotes: Alexandre Ruuttu (2nd round, 51st overall)
- RW speedster, responsible defensively.
San Jose Sharks: Justin Sefton (3rd round, 89th overall)
-6'3" 226 Right-shooting bruiser on D. No offence to speak of & picks uploads of PIM. Sarich Jr?
Winnipeg Jets: Zachary Yuen (4th round, 119th overall)
- Put up very solid numbers on the Tri-City blueline over 4 years.

I wonder why we didn't offer a 7th round pick for one of these prospects. They are further along in their development and can step in on the Heat. They must be classified as busts otherwise a team would have stepped up and traded for their rights, unless it is a Joey Leach situation and they didn't want to burn a NHL contract spot on them. I look at Petr Straka who was a 2nd round pick for CLB in 2010 and wasn't offered a contract. Then Philly scoops him up as a ufa. He lit up the Q this past season and we could use scoring on the RW. Don't see the harm in using a late round pick to gamble on one of these kids, as they are probably just as likely to turn out as someone we pick in the 7th round.
