Stable goaltending is critical to a rebuilding team. If you don't believe in your goaltender, your forwards aren't going to take risks, your D sits back, etc.

MacDonald kind of fits as a stop gap, but Bernier is a huge step in a part of rebuilding this team. Better then both unproven "best goaltender not in the NHL" ... if we can get Bernier for a 2nd, or one of our best goaltender not in the NHL, do it.
