Comparing the top 3 picks to the 5th-7th picks, how many franchise players are in the 2nd list? Carey Price and Ryan Suter? You would have to hit a couple home runs in 22nd and 28th picks to make this deal seem even remotely lopsided in the Avs favour.
Without a doubt you do that trade to get a guy like MacKinnon.
