Daigle was once viewed as a franchise player once too.
In a sense I'm glad to hear what we heard tonight and the 3 firsts (or 1st and 4 2nds) will jump start this rebuild faster than pinning everything on a great young player.
Look at TB with Stamkos and Car with E Staal. Fantastic players but without a supporting cast they both finished in bottom 5.
Stock the cupboards and suck up the next 2-3 years. Do it the right way and don't take shortcuts.
