Im in the Monahan camp tho so I would be jacked.

I think the oilers would offer more than a third to move from 7th to 5th so we would at a minimum be bidding against them. In order for the Canes to consider such a minimal return they would either need to be guaranteed to get who they want at 6 (meaning Flames won't take him), or they would have to be ambivalent about a number of guys on the board at 5.
I would hold onto the pick and take one of Monahan or Lindholm, sounds like it may be something of a crapshoot. I would avoid Nichuskin (sp). Must admit I have only seen a view videos, but he has the look of a highly skilled, physically elite player who has never really had to learn to function with teammates. Could be a great power winger, but will likely only flourish for moments at a time.
Clearly speculation at this point of course, but I would like to see something like:
6th pick - Monahan, Lindholm
22nd - Rychel/ or best D available
28th - Best D on board if Rychel selected, otherwise Klimchuk/Hartman
3rd round - Nick Baptiste (looks like developing power winger with serious speed)
