Why is that so critical? The Swedish league is fine for development. The Sedins developed there for a year, Loui Eriksson spent a year there after being drafted, Zetteberg spent two years there after being drafted, Ericsson spent two years there after being drafted, Kronwall spent three years there after being drafted, Erik Karlsson spent one year there after being drafted, Berglund spent two years there after being drafted, Alexander Steen spent three years there after being drafted, etc
Don't understand why Barkov or Lindholm can't spend a year developing in Europe, don't see it hurting at all.
