Coke sales should be at all time high that weekend.

The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club in partnership with MacDonald Island Park and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo announce the Northern Kickoff, to be held at the new Shell Place in Fort McMurray, Alberta on Saturday, June 13, 2015.

The CFL pre-season game, scheduled as a ‘home’ game for the Eskimos, will feature the Edmonton Eskimos against the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders and will be broadcast live on TSN from the new and currently under construction SMS Stadium at Shell Place.

Shell Place is a $127 million community development project scheduled to open in 2015 at MacDonald Island Park in downtown Fort McMurray.
The Northern Kickoff game and associated community and fan events will be presented by Shell Albian Sands.

“This will be an incredible event for Fort McMurray and the entire Wood Buffalo region,” said Melissa Blake, Mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and Chair of the Northern Kickoff. “As the cornerstone of what will be the official opening of Shell Place, the Northern Kickoff is something much more than the most Northern game in CFL history; it’s an opportunity to share our community with the rest of Canada along with the amazing things happening here.”
