Yah, it almost feels like a role reversal. When the 360 was first announced, I thought MS was doing everything right. They were releasing a powerful, developer friendly, cater to the customer type of console. Sony, on the other hand, contintued with their stubborn stance of "we know best" with the PS3 by using custom architecture that was hard to develop for, and pricey components that drove the price up. They were resting on their laurels from the success of the PS2.
After being humbled by MS this generation, it feels like Sony is treading more carefully this time, to make sure their console is easy to develop for, released at the same time as the competition, and at a competitive price.
