Even the YMCA forces low income members to show their income every year to get subsidized gym membership - I find it hard to believe (well not really) that the City doesnt have this same sort of requirement for subsidized housing dwellers. |
I am surprised they don't have anything like that, however I wonder at the way the stats are presented in the article.
From what it says, it is pretty clearly 1200 people, not 1200 units. I wonder if that included kids. I imagine the average family size would be about 3-5 for these types of units, so that means there would likely be around 300 units being abused. That's a pretty sad state of affairs, but what % of the total number of these types of units would that be?
I know some people in subsidized housing, I can't imagine the kind of idiot someone would have to be to continue living there while earning over 100k a year.
